Efficacy / Effect
Supplementation of selenium in patients with selenium deficiency that cannot be corrected by nutritional support

 
Active ingredient
Sodium selenite pentahydrate   - 0.166mg

 
Warning
It should not be used in patients with selenium toxicity where selenium toxicity is present.

 
Dosage
Selenium is injected intramuscularly or intravenously at a dose of 100 μg per day. If necessary, the dose can be increased up to 200 μg per day.
To ensure the therapy is appropriate, selenium serum levels should be measured.
If this medication is additionally administered in the basic injection of total parenteral nutrition (TPN), the daily dose must be exactly 100 μg of selenium.
